There was lots for Guernsey FC to celebrate yesterday as former Green Lions star Alex Scott received his first senior England call-up and the club announced it would be receiving new multi-year financial backing from two of the island’s wealthiest and football-loving couples – Guy and Julia Hands and Steve and Maggie Lansdown.
